  18.   ISSUE/PROBLEM:  
  19.  
  20. 1.   Make sure the user has the DR Multiuser DOS Business Update of
  21.      September, 1991 for version 5.0 or has DR Multiuser DOS 5.1.
  22.  
  23. 2.   Cable is frequently a problem.  A 5-wire null modem cable is
  24.      needed.The pin configuration is shown on page B-3 of the DR
  25.      Multiuser DOS User Guide.  It is highly recommended that the
  26.      protocol be DTR/DSR.
  27.  
  28. 3.   For troubleshooting purposes ONLY, the user could construct a
  29.      cable with the following configuration:
  30.  
  31.         25 pin PC end           Terminal end (DB25)
  32.  
  33.         Transmit    2  -------- 3     Receive
  34.         Receive     3  -------- 2     Transmit
  35.         Ground      7  -------- 7     Ground
  36.  
  37.      Using this cable, and setting the protocol (both in SETUP and
  38.      on the terminal) to NONE, it will be possible to see whether
  39.      any signal at all is going from the main CPU to the terminal. 
  40.      (Protocol may be referred to as Flow Control.)
  41.  
  42. 4.   Another good test of signal transmission is to define the port
  43.      into which the malfunctioning terminal is plugged as a
  44.      Printer/Aux port (so the terminal is treated by the system as
  45.      a serial printer), in SETUP. Reboot, select the correct
  46.      printer number (from another terminal) using the PRINTER or
  47.      PRINTMAP command on the working terminal, and type DIR > PRN. 
  48.      The directory should "print" on screen of the terminal in
  49.      question.

  51. 5.   Refer to Chapter 3 in the DR Multiuser DOS User Guide for
  52.      setup specifications.
  53.  
  54. 6.   If a PC or terminal is having trouble at higher baud rates,
  55.      set the baud rate (in Setup and on the terminal/PC) to 9600.
  56.  
  57. 7.   In Setup, make sure that the question "Does this terminal
  58.      support graphics" is answered correctly.  For standard
  59.      monochrome terminals, such as a Wyse 60/150, the answer is NO. 
  60.      For a Wyse 370 to support graphics, its personality must be
  61.      set to GR/CGA.  A PC in Terminal Emulation mode can be
  62.      configured for color graphics use, by selecting
  63.      Emulation=PC/CGA in PCTERM.
